A tool that every PeopleSoft Consultant must have
How it started?
You know, why humans were able to survive past many centuries with many crisis and natural calamities, it is the knowledge of making tools. Yes, think about it, from the day humans (or monkey's 😉 ) starts to think they explored the world and on every hard situation he built necessary tools to save themselves and improved them to survive and live as they wish.
With every era gives new opportunities for them to build new tools,
- Old Stone age - Hunting Weapons, Fire & Stone Flakes, Hunting Weapons
- New Stone age - Domestication & Farming, Pottery
- Bronze Age - Bronze Alloys, The Wheel & Plow
- Iron Age - Iron & Steel Weapons
- Middle Ages - Mechanical machines
- Industrial Revolution - The Steam Engine, Textile Machinery
- 20th Century - Electricity & The Grid, transistor
- 21st Century - Artificial Intelligence
How it is going?
Before AI, what was hard for humans became easy for the technology to make/accomplish it. with AI it become more interesting to have both easy and hard task accomplished, mainly on the digital or IoT we deal in daily basis.
The reason why I touch upon all the history and importance, with the right tool we not only simplify the work we do but also improve the quality of it to its perfection.
In that line I took help of AI (Claude and few more AI's) and with the right prompt, able to make tools that will mainly support PeopleSoft Consultants in their support activities. Those are,
- gigaView - A tool that flawlessly open any big text files (be it a 2 or 10 GB file), this will come in handy in handling the trace files or Application Engine traces
- Compare Report Viewer - A tool that opens Project Compare reports, be it a browser report (you don't IE anymore), or traditional report (idx, rpt files), or the XML's with differences.
- IB Log Analyzer - An utility that perfectly do the analysis and gives you statistics along with key findings from the Integration Broker logs (errorLog.html or msgLog.html)
All these things will work without any internet connection or additional software or plugins.
Then I thought why don't we have it combined in a single utility so that you don't have to open/maintain different files. Hence you got the "Better Designs - Workbench". Which can do all three utilities functionalities, not just on one session but with multiple sessions.
Take a look and experience it.,
